Dispatcher Displays Admirable Work Ethic
Posted by Mac10 on July 16, 2008
When a murderer called the police to turn himself in, the dispatcher on duty basically told him to stop wasting her time:
Three days later, Jaimes called 911 from a pay phone to turn himself in, or at least he tried to. FOX 4 obtained a copy of that phone call.
“To turn yourself in, you gotta go to the Lew Sterrett jail,” the operator is heard saying.
“How am I gonna do that?” Jaimes responds.
“You’ll have to take a car, bus or whatever, but they won’t come pick you up. You just gotta turn yourself in,” the operator replies. That dispatcher never asked Jaimes why he was wanted.
To be fair, I blog all day instead of doing actual work so I can relate to this kind of work ethic. On the other hand, I don’t let murderers stay out on the streets at my job (usually). What I hope doesn’t happen is that this guy avoids jail and eventually kills this operator. Not that I would feel bad for her, but everyone would call it ironic when it is really just coincidental. I hate it when people don’t know the meaning of irony.
